Florida State Law requires anyone born after January 1, 1988, must have a valid boaters’ safety ID card in order to operate a motorized boat or personal watercraft of 10 horsepower or more. To get your card, you must register in advance, study, and take the test online. After passing your final exam, print a copy of your temporary boating certificate and bring it with you so you can present it before taking the tour.

Your certificate is valid for 90 days.

Gratuities are encouraged and can be added to your card at the time of booking or after your tour. Or, if you prefer, you can bring money with you and give it directly to your guide after your tour.

The boater safety course is completed entirely online. Click on the boater safety course link to register and get started. After you pass the exam, you will receive a Temporary Boating Certificate, which allows you to legally rent a boat or PWC in Florida for 90 days.

After you register for the course, you will have the option to review the study material prior to taking the exam. You also will have unlimited exam attempts to pass the exam.
